Yelena Mejova is a Senior Research Scientist at the ISI Foundation in Turin, Italy, working in the area of Data Science for Social Impact and Sustainability. Her research concerns the use of social media and AI to understand the way people make decisions about their health and wellbeing, how science is communicated to the public, and the role of technology in mediating these processes, which she contextualizes in the social, political, and cultural spheres. Since 2023, she is a co-Editor-in-Chief of EPJ Data Science, and her papers received best paper awards at numerous Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) conferences, including GoodIT (2023), CHI (2021), UMAP (2019), and CIKM (2013).
