Swatiprava Rath has a Ph.D. in Sociology from the National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER), India. Her research covers the social contexts of waste issues from political-ecological and actor-network theory perspectives, including social stratification, hierarchy, inequality, social exclusion, power, politics, and the state. Her areas of expertise are Environmental Sociology, Urban Sociology, and Sociology of Gender.
