Sophia Stutzmann is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Sciences Po Paris. She completed her PhD in Political Science in 2025 at the Cluster of Excellence “The Politics of Inequality” at the University of Konstanz. During her PhD, she was a visiting scholar at Nuffield College and the Department of Politics and International Relations at the University of Oxford. She holds a master’s degree in Political Economy of Europe from the London School of Economics and a master’s degree in European Affairs from Sciences Po Paris.
In her postdoctoral project, she investigates preferences for retraining policies in the wake of the green transition by affected workers, works councils and managers, and how these preferences are translated into policy regarding retraining. In her dissertation, she has focused on the political economy of the green transition, its labor market implications and consequences for policy preferences and political behavior.
