Meret Lütolf is a research associate at the Institute of Political Science at the University of Bern and a postdoctoral researcher at IDHEAP at the University of Lausanne. Her research addresses gender inequality in the division of paid and unpaid work, examining how family policies shape household labor allocation and gender-specific behavior. A particular focus lies on parental leave policies. Her complementary work investigates public attitudes toward gender equality and social policies across different welfare state contexts. Extending beyond family policy, her more recent work includes education policy and public support for equal-opportunity reforms targeting disadvantaged and immigrant students. Her research draws on comparative, cross-national approaches and survey-experimental methods, and is united by a concern for how policy environments and social norms interact to produce or reduce social inequalities.
