
Mathilde Maria van Ditmars

Mathilde M. van Ditmars is assistant professor of Political Science at the Department of Social and Political Sciences at the University of Milan. Her research studies questions of political sociology, political behaviour, and gender and politics. She has recently been awarded a research grant to study the impact of structural inequalities on generational political change and representation in ageing societies. She holds a PhD in Political and Social Sciences from the European University Institute. Prior to joining the University of Milan, she has held academic and visiting positions at the University of Zurich, University of Lucerne, Leiden University, GESIS Eurolab, DIW Berlin, and FORS at the University of Lausanne. Her work has appeared in Comparative Political Studies, the British Journal of Political Science, and the European Journal of Political Research, among others.
