High-Profile Crime and Perceived Public Safety: Evidence from Cologne’s New Year’s Eve in 2015

Martin Lange is an advanced Researcher at ZEW’s Research Department “Labour Markets and Social Insurance”. Since September 2023 he has been head of the junior research group “Integration of Migrants and Attitudes towards the Welfare State”. His research interests include applied microeconometrics and empirical labour market research. He is particularly interested in the economics of migration, the economics of crime, and the legacy of authoritarian systems. Martin Lange studied economics at Humboldt University in Berlin as well as at the University of Mannheim. He received his PhD from Goethe University Frankfurt.
