Maren Lüdecke is a PhD candidate at the Department of Politics and Public Administration and the Graduate School of Behavioural Sciences at the University of Konstanz. Since June 2025, she receives a PhD scholarship from the Heinrich-Böll-Stiftung. From November 2022 to December 2025, she was a doctoral researcher in the Cluster project “Administrative Inequality: The Case of Foreign Nationals in Germany”. In spring 2025, she spent two months as a visiting researcher at MOBILE – Center of Excellence for Global Mobility Law (University of Copenhagen). She holds a BA and MA in Politics and Public Administration from the University of Konstanz.
Her research examines inequality in asylum adjudication, focusing on how court composition and organisational structures shape variation in decision-making across German administrative courts. She draws on original court-level datasets and a corpus of asylum appeal judgments, applying quantitative methods and computational text analysis to examine extra-legal influences on judicial behaviour.
