Lucas Bütje

Lucas Bütje is a Ph.D. student in Economics at the Graduate School of the Social and Behavioural Sciences at the University of Konstanz. He is an empirical microeconomist with research interests in education and labor economics. His work focuses on the determinants of children’s success in education aEnrico Benassi is a DPhil researcher in Social Policy at the University of Oxford. His research lies at the intersection of international and comparative political economy, economic sociology, electoral politics, and social policy. He examines how labour markets, welfare institutions, and housing systems shape income and wealth inequalities across countries and socio-economic groups, highlighting how some workers face a structural trade-off between maximizing income and accumulating wealth.
He is a Teaching Fellow in graduate courses in Quantitative Methods and undergraduate courses in Social Policy at the Department of Social Policy and Intervention (DSPI). Enrico also works as a Research Assistant on DECIPHE, a project on intergenerational homeownership persistence, and he is affiliated with the Institute for New Economic Thinking (INET) at Oxford. Prior to his DPhil, he studied at the London School of Economics and Bocconi University and gained private-sector experience at TBI and Bain & Company.nd their subsequent outcomes on the labor market. In particular, his current research investigates how short-term financial stress, parental job loss, and high school peer composition affect student performance, child development, and long-term life trajectories.
