University of Zurich

Leon Küstermann is a postdoctoral researcher in the research group ‘Inequality and Politics’ (Prof Thomas Kurer). His research focuses on why structural changes in the labor market—such as technological change, globalization, and climate transitions—lead to more inclusive political outcomes in some contexts than in others. In particular, he works on the role of firms in shaping people’s political preferences and implications for policy responses and the welfare state in the 21st century. Leon has a PhD in Political and Social Sciences from the European University Institute and a MSc in Comparative Social Policy from the University of Oxford.
