Laurie Schintler

Laurie A. Schintler is an Associate Professor in the Schar School of Policy and Government at George Mason University. Her research expertise lies at the nexus of science and technology, complexity theory, cities and regions, and sustainability and resilience. In her research, she bridges methodological innovation with real-world application, developing computational approaches to analyze large-scale social science data. Dr. Schintler is a founding member of the Regional Science Academy (tRSA) and holds a U.S. patent. She earned her Ph.D. in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign.
