Jan Bachmann

Jan Bachmann is a PhD student at the Complexity Science Hub in Vienna and at TU Graz with an educational background in Computer Science. He studies how inequalities in social networks between socio-demographic groups can emerge from connection preferences. Applied to the context of academic collaboration and citation, he tries to understand if these preferences can explain gender gaps in research productivity, impact, visibility, retention and the access to information.
