Georg Kanitsar

“Falling Behind, Losing Trust: Intergenerational Mobility and Social Trust in Europe”

Georg Kanitsar is a post doc/ assistant professor at the Institute for Sociology at the Vienna University of Economics and Business. In his research, he explores the roots of cooperation and social order with an emphasis on solidarity, trust, and morality. He uses lab, field, and online experiments, but also survey research and theoretical analyses. His work has been published in Social Science Research, European Journal of Sociology, Social Indicators Research, Games, and Journal of Public Economics. He holds a Ph.D. in sociology (Uni Vienna, 2018) and an M.Sc. in Economics (Uni Vienna, 2013). Before joining WU, he was at the Institute of Economic Sociology at the University of Vienna. He has been on study and research stays at the University of Zurich and the University of Amsterdam.
