Dorothee Spannagel is since 2014 Head of Unit for Distribution Analysis and Distribution Policy at the Institute of Economic and Social Research (WSI) from the Hans-Böckler-Foundation. She obtained her PhD in 2011 at the Max Weber Institute for Sociology at the University of Heidelberg on the topic “Wealth in Germany. Empirical Analysis”. Previously, she was coordinator of the doctoral program “Limits of Civil Society” at the Institute of Sociology at Heidelberg University (2010-2011) and project manager of the EU research project “COPE – Combating Poverty in Europe” at the University of Oldenburg (2011-2013).
