Claudia Diehl is a professor of Microsociology at the Department of Sociology and Co-Speaker of the Cluster of Excellence “The Politics of Inequality” at the University of Konstanz. She received her PhD from the University of Mannheim in 2001 and was employed at the Federal Institute for Population Research and as a professor at the University of Göttingen before her appointment in Konstanz. She spent several years abroad, most recently as a distinguished visiting fellow at the Graduate Center of the City University of New York in 2016 and as the DAAD Hannah-Arendt visiting professor at the Munk School of Foreign Affairs and Public Policy in Toronto in 2019/2020. In 2021, she has been appointed to The Standing Conference of the Ministers of Education and Cultural Affairs of the Länder in the Federal Republic of Germany and she is a member of the Advisory Board for Family Affairs.
