Carlotta Giustozzi

Carlotta Giustozzi works as a postdoctoral researcher at the Federal Institute for Research on Building, Urban Affairs and Spatial Development at the unit for “People and regions in transition” researching socio-structural changes in the German lignite mining regions.
Before, she has worked at Goethe University in two ERC projects, CORRODE and POLAR. Her thematic focus in the projects lied on consequences of economic inequality for social cohesion and on the erosion of political trust during the Great Recession across Europe and the US. For her doctoral thesis, she examined how difficulties at the labour market accumulate over time and how they affect social integration and exclusion.
