
Alessia Invernizzi

Alessia Invernizzi is a Postdoctoral Researcher in the European Politics Group at the Center for Comparative and International Studies. She contributes to the ERC-funded EUROBORD and SNF-funded project on European boundary configurations, focusing on how crises and geopoliticization shape resource allocation. She brings expertise in quantitative research methods and leads the data collection on boundary control resources. Alongside her work on European borders, Alessia continues her research on contemporary trade policy globally and within the European Union. Alessia earned her doctoral degree from the University of Konstanz with a dissertationon strategic interests in contemporary protectionism through a sectoral approach. Her broader interests include industrial policy, sanctions, European integration, and international organizations, primarily using a political economy framework. Her work has been published in International Organizations, Journal of Peace Research, and European Union Politics.
